One Hell of a Design: Xiaomi Mi5

Merry Christmas to all.

Xiaomi CEO has said it many a times that the device is worth waiting for and we trust him on this. Looking at these leaked images that claim to be of Xiaomi Mi5, we surely got goosebumps looking at this amazing design. Reason that Xiaomi gave for delaying this device is “User Experience Enhancement”. Per the reports, Snapdragon 820 has exceptional qualities of giving a flawless user experience and Xiaomi would never want to loose on this being the first ones getting to use the 820 processor.

The images recently leaked flaunt exteriors of metal and that makes it look very premium. Mi logo on the rear is a shiny chrome that even enhances the appeal of the phone. Camera, flash and the rear sensor are in a horizontal queue. The bending sides gives it a look which is more like HTC One M9.

Another major difference that we can figure from these images is the physical home button. Xiaomi in their all previous devices has always had a feather touch home button which this time is going to be replaced by a physical button. Reports say that this is being done to allow Xiaomi get more impactful finger print. This as a result will reduce the response time to unlock. Studies also say, that a user feels the unlock faster when pressing the button than just touching it.

This leak doesn’t talk about the specs, which we think are going to be what we earlier discussed:

  • 3D Force Touch
  • 5.2 ” Display
  • 4 GB RAM
  • Snapdragon 820 Processor
  • 3200 mAh Battery

The controversy on the OS still remains active. Earlier reports indicated that Xiaomi is planning two versions of Xiaomi Mi5, one will be with as expected Android Marshmallow and the other with Windows 10. For this to confirm we will have to wait for the launch.

Do you agree that these pictures increased the excitement levels ?

Latest Leaked Mi5 Images

Two beautiful devices with a full aluminized metal frame were launched by Xiaomi last month and now the turn is surely of Xiaomi Mi5. Latest leaks on the Chinese site Weibo suggest the image displayed below.

Xiaomi Mi5 Leak

The phone sport a front physical fingerprint scanner which looks more like the Samsung Galaxy S6. Now that the news on Snapdragon 820 has officially been announced, the Xiaomi Mi5 release date should also be near. Though there is no word from Xiaomi on the released date of Xiaomi Mi5 but on every previous event when the Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun was asked questions about Mi5 by the media, he said your will have to wait but he assured that the wait will surely be worth. While there is a very little out about your awaited Xiaomi Mi5 but we managed to uncover a little connecting the dots of whatever was available.

The recent leaked images shows a very thin metal bezel and looks very smart. Although there has been many leaks earlier but this new design brings some fresh air to the fans and is undoubtedly very beautiful. There is no picture of the rear of the phone in the leaks and that makes it a little hard to talk about the rear look but the way design is going from up to down to front to back, it will be almost similar to its front profile. What’s more interesting about this leaked image is its exactly similar to what was leaked by some other source couple of weeks back. This increases the possibility of this being the Xiaomi Mi5.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is also one awaited device as teased by Xiaomi, both of their upcoming devices (Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 and Redmi Note Pro 2) will be all metal body and Xiaomi has also released this picture for the launch. A metal finish will somehow give Mi Pad a look of iPad but lets wait a day to see how closely are they related.

Xiaomi Mi5 to introduce “Snapdragon 820”

Xiaomi Mi5 have been long awaited, the latest rumoured date of 3rd December, 2015 seems to be happening. And the possibility of Mi5 being sported with the Snapdragon 820 is almost confirmed.

Xiaomi Mi5 Snapdragon 820

Lately a device named “Gemini” was seen on the benchmarking website Geekbench with a humongous benchmarking score. Experts say this is surely connected with the Snapdragon 820 and the name of the processor in the benchmarking was mentioned to be “MSM8996” which is the internal name of Snap 820 only. The name “Gemini” is also believed to be a Codename for Xiaomi Mi5. On December 03, Xiaomi will most probably announce the device and then would start shipping in January 2016. Per the latest report, Qualcomm is also planning an unveil of Snapdragon 820 by late 2015 and they said that we can see devices with this new processor by early 2016. Connecting both the dots, its fair to say that Xiaomi will be laced with Snapdragon 820.

Mi TV 3 Surprising? Wait for Xiaomi Mi TV 4.

You might miss the greatest launch by Xiaomi !!

Although many would have just passed the news of the latest launch by Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Mi TV 3, but just like other amazing Xiaomi devices this is also something to look at. Today in the market a TV of similar configuration is three times the cost of this. The lowest priced Samsung and Sony 60 inches Full HD Smart Television starts at 2700 USD. Xiaomi Mi TV 3 is launched at 800 USD which is less than 1/3rd the price of the regular branded TV.  People usually associate Xiaomi only with Smartphones but Xiaomi today has such large variety of electronics ranging from Water Purifier to Sci-Fi shoes.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4

Xiaomi already had Xiaomi Mi TV and Xiaomi Mi TV 2 in the market has now launched Xiaomi Mi TV 3. Release date for Mi TV 3 is not yet out, but rumours say that the TV will be out in the market by around December, 2015.

This 60 inches TV has a very sleek design, thickness is from 0.45 inches (at the thinest point) to 1.44 inches (at the thickest point). The best and the most unique thing about this new TV is its a complete new concept as Xiaomi has added another external unit that has all the ports. Only one wire goes from the TV to the box which will do all your functions from Video streaming to image processing. Since always TV manufacturers had this limitation of loading all the ports onto the device which made the TV bulky and reduced the looks too. With this new design Xiaomi is able to pull off a design which is never seen before and thickness was not possible without bringing this revolution in the design. The external unit also equips very high quality Xiaomi speakers which will surely enhance your Home Theatre experience.  There is also an option of adding big Xiaomi subwoofers that will cost you additional. With these amazing configuration and price, Xiaomi Mi TV 3 is surely one product not to miss.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4 is to debut next year but one think that we wanted to share with everybody is, Xiaomi Mi TV 4 will bring in something revolutionary. Maybe,

  • In Air Gesture Controls
  • Built In Internet Browser
  • Wireless Keyboard and Mouse for Navigation

These features will surely make this next device to be most awaited.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is ready to surprise

Xiaomi holds an event on October 16 and have also started sending out invites to fans. Many are interpreting this to be the Xiaomi Mi5 launch but we doubt that since Xiaomi has two more devices awaiting and launch Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 and the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 and also there are more rumours around the launch of Xiaomi Mi5 in November. Previous versions of both of these new devices were great success and the new version is very much awaited by the fans. Xiaomi recently also got a device certified through the 3C Certification for one of their device and it says with a charger 5V, rated at 2.0 A. This power of the charger should be for a tablet only, since no small device would need this high energy to charge. So our prediction of Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 comes from this.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 configurations would look like:

  •  6.0 Android Marshmallow and Windows 10, 2 separate Variants
  • 4GB LPDDR4 RAM
  • 13 Megapixel Camera
  • 10 Inch Screen 2560×1440 Px
  • Aluminium Frame with Carbon outers
  • Battery 5000 mAh with fast-charging
  • Expandable Memory with internal memory 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB
  • Dual SIM Support

One of the newest thing to look out on the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is the integration of the Windows 10. Device will not be a dual boot with both the OS but user will have variants to choose from Android or Windows. There are rumours that Xiaomi has completed its testing of Windows 10 on the Mi Pad 2 and will be releasing the new OS with it.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2

Another device that might launch this October 16 is the Xiaomi Mi Band 2. This time Mi band is expected to sport a small screen to display time and other important activities. Earlier there were also news about Xiaomi working on a Smart Watch but Xiaomi has not confirmed on any such development. To read more about Xiaomi Mi Band 2, Click Here. For now we will have to wait till October 16, that would give some idea on Xiaomi plans for the next devices.

Nexus 5X, 6P vs Xiaomi Mi5, Mi5 Plus

Google Nexus 2015 Vs Xiaomi Mi5, Who will win ?

The current buzz in the mobile phone market is about the latest released Google Nexus 5X and 6P. Nexus 5X is built by LG and is the upgraded version of the previous 2013 Nexus 5, on the other side Google Nexus 6P is made by Huawei. The previous Nexus devices didn’t quite make a place in the market, lets see how these ones perform in this new competitive world of mobile phones.  One good thing about the Nexus devices have been that they come with the latest Android OS but that doesn’t prove to be sufficient for convincing a new customer. Lets compare on what we expect from the awaited Xiaomi Mi5 vs Nexus 5X and 6P:

  • Both Nexus 5X and the 6P has the Finger Print scanner on the rear side of the phone which is quiet weird but works faster than that of the iPhones. Xiaomi Mi5 is also expected to come with the Touch ID on the front side just like the iPhone and the OnePlus. It is also rumoured that the Mi5 will have a larger Touch ID scanner which will work faster than any other in the market.
  • Just like Nexus have been launched in two screen sizes with Nexus 5X being a 5.2 “ and Nexus 6P a 5.7“. Xiaomi is also to be launched in two screen sizes with Xiaomi Mi5 being of 5” and Xiaomi Mi5 Plus with 5.7”. Resolution of all of these 4 phones is a Full-HD display.

Xiaomi Mi5 vs Nexus 6P

  • Xiaomi Mi5 and Mi5 Plus will most probably be equipped with the Snapdragron 820 and will be the first phones with this latest processor. Nexus 5X and 6P on the other hand has the Snapdragon 808 and 810 chip respectively.
  • When it comes to faster processing power, most of it depends on the RAM of the phone. Nexus 5x has a 2 GB LPDD3 RAM and 6P has 3 GB LPDD4 RAM. Both the Xiaomi phones will have a 4 GB LPDD4 RAM.
  • A good camera makes a phone more interesting and both the Nexus phones have played really well with the phone camera. Enabling 4k 120 fps slow motion recording will surely interest many. On the numbers front both Nexus phones have a 12.3 MP camera. Xiaomi phones are rumoured to come with the new Sony’s technology with 20.1 MP Camera.
  • Battery is a very important aspect that buyers look forward to, Xiaomi Mi5 will have a 3300 mAh battery and Mi5 Plus a 3600 mAh. Nexus 5X has not so impressive 2700 mAh and Nexus 6P has a very strong 3450 mAh. Both the Nexus phones have a fast charging which can give you a 7 hours of phone running in 10 mins of charging.

Nexus phones are announced and Xiaomi phones are yet to be launched in November this year. Lets wait till then to see if Xiaomi makes the mark and if Nexus this time will stay up and not flop like it did the last time.

Xiaomi Mi5 vs OnePlus Two

Your wait for Xiaomi Mi5 might be worth

Xiaomi Mi5 should launch in early November this year. With the release of OnePlus Two, everybody is confused on to wait for Xiaomi Mi5 to launch or buy the OnePlus Two. Per the AnTuTu scores leaked out for the Mi5, Mi5 beats the OnePlus Two by a good margin of 9k. For those who never heard about the benchmark score, it actually tests many aspects of your device and assigns it a score. It checks things that we as a user use while we use our device like:

  • CPU – Device’s Central Processing Unit does the greater part of the calculating and is the processing using of the phone that computes all complex tasks to tell phone what to do. In simple terms it is the heart of the phone
  • GPU – Device’s Graphics Processing Unit handles quickened illustrations and is in charge of demonstrating to you the decent screen with the high resolution
  • RAM – A gadget utilizes Random Access Memory as working memory, as glimmer stockpiling or an inner SD card is utilized for long haul stockpiling purposes
  • UX – This really is a general score that speaks to how the gadget’s “client experience” will be in genuine
  • IO – Input/Output scores mirrors the rate of your gadget’s inward collection, for example, its glimmer memory or inside SD card

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 that launched this month recorded an AnTuTu score 4k higher than OnePlus Two. With almost double the cost of a OnePlus Two this might not convince the buyers enough to pay double.

Lets have a look at few of the major league phones in the market:

Well if this is true than Xiaomi surely is a worth wait.
